A starter-kit for easily getting started with Piezo LEGS®. From your computer you can run motor in closed loop and control position to the resolution of the encoder (1.25 µm). For higher resolution positioning you may always connect and close the loop with an external encoder. Motor and controller board are able to move in increments of 0.0005 µm, so this starter-kit can be useful even for sub-micrometer applications.
The LL06 is our most compact linear motor for build-in OEM applications and comes with integrated 1.25 µm position sensor for closed loop control. Direct linear drive means gearhead and linear screw are not needed, which reduces overall size. Able to fit in spaces that other motors find difficult, LL06 delivers up to 6.5 N force. Its friction drive ensures full-force, power-off locking, and its Piezo LEGS® technology is ideal for any ‘move-and hold’ application able to benefit from high precision, instant response and low power consumption.
The PMD401 is a fully featured miniature controller board for open loop and closed loop operation that can be easily stacked to form a multi-axis controller system, and piggy-backed on customers mainboard for integration in OEM applications. It can provide resolution of up to 8192 microsteps, corresponding to positioning resolution in the sub-nanometer range. Host communication is via 2-wire RS485 through ASCII commands. The PMD401 can also be used as a servo amplifier where the external controller regulates the speed via SPI interface. A breakout board with terminal blocks for easy access to power and communication is offered optionally for customers wanting to get application development started straight away.
